Becky Thomson

Our sponsor for the opening night gala at the 3rd annual Toronto International Chamber Music Festival leads an interesting and challenging life!  She is one of those happy spirited people who take a genuine interest in you and what you are doing!  She throws herself and all of her energy into everything she does and rarely turns down an opportunity to volunteer.  She is generous in her support of a cause that she truly believes in.   Becky is the head volunteer as well as head of the Volunteer Committee for TrypTych Productions along with being a volunteer for the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, AboutFace, and the WholeNote magazine.  Becky was the last recipient of the Woman on the Move award for volunteerism in 1998.

Becky, whom we refer to as our favourite “contrary contralto” was a founding member of the Earle Terry Singers in London, ON, in 1948 and in 1953 they represented Canada at the Unesco Festival in Brussels.  She was an active member of the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir from 1960 until 2002 and is still invited back each year for the Messiah performances.  Becky has been an integral part of Ensemble TrypTych Chamber Choir since its inception five years ago. “Music is my life and the choirs are my families”.  TrypTych is proud to have Becky’s sponsorship for the opening night celebration.
